2018 Edmonton International Humanitarian Law Conference “Battleground Metropolis: Urban Warfare and International Humanitarian Law”

This conference will examine the changing nature of warfare, movement of battles into cities, and challenges for International Humanitarian Law (IHL). This conference includes an introduction to IHL, panel discussion and a question and answer session. We will bring together a panel including experts from the Canadian Red Cross, University of Alberta, and International Committee of the Red Cross to discuss the issues.

Professor Joanna Harrington will give a presentation on “Accountability for the Commission of Crimes in Syria”.
