Beyond Codes and Protocols

The Forum for Global Challenges of University of Birmingham is held on 3-5 May 2022. The event is a major international meeting showcasing and generating solutions of the most pressing challenges faced by our planet and its people, from climate change and destruction of the natural world, to rising inequality, especially exacerbated by climate change and the global pandemic.
Co-researcher Valerie Oosterveld will be moderator at the conference “Beyond Codes and Protocols”. The discussion will be mainly about the Murad Code which is a code of conduct for gathering and using information in relation to systematic and conflict-related sexual violence. This event will explore opportunities and barriers to implementation of Murad and other protocols to protect survivors and showcase practical solutions for how such tools can be actioned on the ground.
